It was just another quiet but beautiful day in suburban Port Carling. We still have some snow on the ground but it is disappearing quickly. We’ve had a great run of sunshine for the past week to 10 days; the lack of rain has slowed down the snow melt but has sure helped keep the road in reasonable condition.

I failed to mention in yesterday’s post that the trip back into the kitchen didn’t go without the odd screw-up. It’s amazing how quickly you lose your timing and flow and without even thinking can manage to steam your thumb for a niece second degree burn. All things considered I came through the process intact. After all, with all the slicing and dicing required to prep Chinese, coming out with fingers intact is a major accomplishment.
