Tomorrow, at 8:00 a.m., a fine young orthopaedic surgeon performs his magic. He will take an intact person, remove her right leg; and with the assistance of saws, chisels and hammers, put her all back together again. Humpty Dumpty is looking on, hoping to be able to avail himself of the same services. Barb goes “under the knife” and will come out with a new hip. Finally, relief from the pain she has been enduring, after she overcomes the pain of the surgery. Then she has the prospect of having the left hip replaced to look forward to.
All is quiet from my perspective. No news, one way or the other, to report. It’s very easy to be caviller when someone else is facing the surgery that Barb is about to undergo.
It's sure to be interesting around "the little house in the woods" during the next few weeks; the sick attending to the sicker.
